International Amtran Door Lock Question

Just picked up a 2001 International Amtran 66 passenger School Bus today. Actually , my wife and a buddy picked it up while I worked.

First & most basic question....how do I get back in this thing once the side door is shut... There is a key cylinder in the panel in front of the door, with a spring activated lock... However, when I turn the key, nothing happens.....Haven't looked at it at all yet, just left it where I'm keeping it.
But, I would assume that perhaps that key runs a solenoid that raises the 'catch' on the inside door handle..

Any Clues ??

It's dang near impossible to look that stuff up. Someone here should have a matching bus and could offer information when they find this thread.

I have a lock on my entry door and I have to push in really hard to get the lock to lock or unlock. Not quite sure how that works yet. So just an idea, but try putting about 20 lbs of pressure on the door while turning the key.
