Just bought a 24 seat bus... now what!

So my parents bought me a 24 seat bus. And my plans is to convert it to my dream home.
But the bus has expired tags and is on non op.
We're in California and not too sure what to do about getting it registered and insured?
How do you guys do that??

We're so confused 😕

Thanks for your help!!

The insurers that we called requested photos of the outside (Front, Back, Passenger & Driver sides), and same inside. They didn't want any roof decks or wood stoves. Ours (shuttle bus) had no signs or markings and was white in color. You may need something different if you intend to live in it full time. Let's hope that some full-timer would share their experience with you. Call National General Insurance and see what they tell you. Good lock.

You need to get it retitled as an RV in California you need a licensed vehicle assessor to come out and inspect it talk to them to see what they will need to see which is a mattress a chemical toilet maybe camp kitchen for sink and a coleman stove then pay the mony and you will get the documents to reregister it as an rv AAA wrote us for liability insurance noi spection required. Hopefully the previous owner registered it no op or you will have to pay all of the previous registrations. Good luck
