Re: Locating bus/truck salvage yards

I know of one about 5 minutes from my house that scraps buses. I live in Grand Rapids, MI though - kind of a long ways from NC.

here's their website - http://www.nealstruckparts.com/

Re: Locating bus/truck salvage yards

I am on the West Coast, and have the nation's best inventory of Gillig, Crown, and other misc buses. NO GMC stuff or shiny stuff, only schoolies, trucks, and fire trucks.

have a good one

Good web sites or other strategies for locating bus salvage yards in a given area.
I would try the mechanics at the local school district bus barn. I've never met one who wasn't friendly and helpful.

I know this original post is from 2008 but I wanted to say thank you to phillbus914 for the URL link. I live in Jenison, MI and have reached out today to Neal's truck parts for replacement parts for my build.

Thanks again.

And since Thinwall resurrected this thread, I thought I'd add one that has been very useful--I found my exact bus at a NC salvage yard and picking up some parts there in a couple of weeks. This is the search tool:

Bus Salvage Yard

Does anyone know of any Bus salvage yards near OKC? I'm purchasing a 1996 international skoolie and I need a motor and a few tires...

I passed these guys on I-10 east of Houston. I have no experience with them. They have used parts.

Day-yum, Dave!
Don't buy a running bus from those Intestate guys unless you have more molars than neurons, and dee-ep pockets.

Ha! NoNo. I have a bus. One is enf!

I did see, at 75 mph, a buncha FE busses against the front fence that didnít have that ďdrive off the lotĒ look.

Iíll be checking with them for some rear gears next year. We will see.

there is in Ohio.. several of them! Busses rust out here well before their mechanical majors fail many times...

Mike N B's in newcomerstown ohio is mainly school busses (and usually lots of them).

Warners has OLD bus parts.. althiought they have beenb getting rid of some of their waynes and superiors.. they also had classic car parts..

Starks typically has busses and various parts of them.

Pauls equipment eastern ohio gets in busses on a fairly regular basis..
