Locking drawers

I'm trying to figure out how to lock my drawers/cabnets without making a huge deal about it. How did you guys and girls lock your stuff up? My first thought was child safety but that doesn't seem like a firm lock.

Are you seeking to lock them for keeping people out or latch them to keep them from opening?

We use eye hooks....the hook is on the edge of the drawer/door, the eye is on the frame between the drawers/doors.
It's a bit inelegant but it works, par for skoolie life.
