Looking for a place to do my conversion...

Hi Everyone,

I recently decided to convert a skoolie. Here's my problem. I currently live in Israel, I will be moving back to the US in the summer to begin my process, but I have no idea where I will be able to do my conversion, since I dont have a home base (parents live in an apartment in NY).

Does anyone know the best options for finding a place? Maybe renting some land from someone? I thought since I wont be starting my conversion until September 2016, that I should find somewhere that the weather will be favorable for a few months. Maybe New Mexico, or somewhere else in the southwest.

I don't have a huge budget. Anyone have any ideas?

TIA!

Chava

Welcome to the forum!

Scour Craigslist and start reaching out to folks.
The weather here in FL is pretty nice most of the year other than a bit of rain and some heat. Summers can be pretty brutal but from august to may its really nice.

If you want the bus done in any kind of reasonable time, a decent budget is definitely going to be needed.

Sent you a PM. Southeast Kansas weather is not terrible. Also cheap and no one will complain about an ugly bus.

I'm living in my bus and converting it on a farm in exchange for chores. Look around in the country for that sort of deal. Before I contacted a ghetto used car dealership that had a lot of storage space behind it and got a 3 month lease for $100 a month including electricity. That setup was nice because it was gated and had security cameras and what not,
