Looking for Cummins parts sites and connection
Anyone have any connections for parts number changes. I have a parts manual for my Cummins. The Cummins dealer does not want to use and time getting a new number or telling price. If I have/get a modern number, he Cummins store will tell availability and maybe price. Because the prices rise so quickly, every price is checked on the phone. After a while, the nice Cummins partsman will not look. There must be a web site to check parts but, only known by the Cummins store people. I would like to find the Cummins parts site. The local guy will not tell me and I think there is a password required. Finding modern replacement parts for a 40 year old Cummins engine is very time consuming. There are other Cummins parts makers but their name and location is not known. Any Cummins parts help greatly appreciated. Frank Bigtime Crown bus fan.

I have access to Cummins website, not from my home computer but at work. Only available to authorized Cummins dealers and it has layered passwords to get into the system...
If you have the old part number, post the part number here, and the part desctiption. It may also help to have the engine serial number, with that I can look up the entire build on the engine (providing it's not too old to be in the data base)....

Tell ya what, send your info to my yahoo addy, that way I can access it from work. Include all the info you can. As for how often they change...that is a loaded question, some change often, some never change....usually part numbers get superceded when the manufacturer makes a revision to the part, or has a different supplier for the part, or any number of other reasons...
Prices I can give if they are in our ADP source. The only items in the ADP will be stuff we sell or are otherwise connected with our products. This will be our dealer/distributor list prices for Ford & Sterling heavy truck. I don't actually get pricing from Cummins unless it crosses over to our ADP inventory. I'll provide what I can from the info you provide.
Keep in mind I'm a company driver and don't sit in front of a computer all day, and will have to find time (and find an open computer) to do all this, so it may take more than a day!

Once both of you guys have made contact, you should edit your posts and remove your email address to prevent getting lots a spam sent to them from computers that crawl the internet looking for email addresses.

Frank, check your email....
As for posting email addy, that is why I put the yahoo account on there, to hide my regular addy's.... But I'll edit it out anyway...

Just in case anyone is interested, Frank sent me a list of numbers, all but one of them I was able to identify and supply current number, and pricing for all items....some of the numbers he gave me hadn't changed at all....
