in that case why not fashion some headliners or wall skins? this would let you use what ever tickles your fancy to seal the vehicle after insulation. then one could have fun with things like parachutes, ranger blanket (AKA Woobie) issued canvas hatch panels etc. if you reside in the states the Mil vehicle boneyards are plentiful you could find almost anything. pieces from a Ma Deuce or M35 may trigger some ideas that aren't as posh as a Rover but built to take a beating.
After that maybe ponder this avenue if you haven't yet.
How creative are you? Can you or someone you know sew? or do you have an in with an upholstery or tent maker?
Start poking around the surplus stores.....?

It was sort of intentionally un detailed I was trying to see if someone had ideas I hadn't thought of. If it had just popped up on Google or in the bus projects page on this site I would have already found it and wouldn't have tempted the facetiousness of the forum god's. Thanks for the ideas though keep em all coming. Something's gonna hit home. My wife is not at all on board with the full on military look otherwise we would just be sleeping in cots next to our land cruiser haha

Doesn't matter where you get the inspiration from, take it and make it work for your needs. I plan on spending probably a good solid week on google when making my interior color choices. I'm not so good with that stuff.

EastCoastCB, I use beard oil. It keeps my face nice and soft.
None of us are hipsters in the negative way you're referring to. Most of the older members are pretty skilled and highly intelligent. Their hard work and ideas have been ripped off by all of the HGTV, tiny home, Instagram, fad-driven social media bs. I'd bet the skoolie from "Expedition Happiness" on Netflix was largely based off of some of the better builds here and yet no credit was given to the community. They also lied by omission and acted like they built it without even crediting the builder. I know, because I watched the Youtube series it was based on as it was all unfolding.

That's pretty funny haha...I am going to think that every time now haha. Those pictures the interior is a little sterile. I'm sure it will still look like a gypsy camp in there as soon as all 4 kids move in!

Its going to be our pirate ship...our space exploration rig, and I would like it to reflect that not in a cheesy way, sorta more of a military'esk expedition sorta vibe. I have already done some extensive searching and I know how it goes posting on a forum...someone is always gonna wanna chime in with the "you know there is a search function" haha.

So George Jetson meets Capt Hook, no hanging beads or tie died prints.
Didn't have a theme when I started....ended up with a military rat rod hunting cabin for a few asses. As said many times, you won't find two the same. Everyone has their own ideas and needs....home, camper, toy hauler, etc.

My vision was a log cabin on wheels with my fishing equipment and my longbows to take to the race track and use as a race car toter. It came out exactly how I wanted it like the 1960s log cabin fishing camp
This was before I knew this tiny house / hipster movement existed.

Man, sounds to me like we'd be good friends! I'm more suburban than urban, though. I love being able to drive like 10-20 minutes to a decent sized forest or park or 5 minutes to sushi/Thai/Mediterranean food. The glasses, hair and messenger bag probably have me labeled as a hipster, too, but I'm more than just those things as you clearly are, as well.
