Mud Flaps

Are buses/RVs required to have them? My bus has never had any and I was just wondering what the laws says.

I've seen them with and without. The only time they are required are on exposed wheels, such as semi tractors. A bus with all that rear overhang doesn't really need them . . .except . . .if you are mounting anything under the frame back there. Then I will use them to keep things from getting mucked up.

Mud Flaps Required in Texas

I recently had my 91 International Blue Bird inspected, and before the guy would put a sticker on it he required the installation of mud flaps behind the rear tires. No problem, as I was gonna do that anyway....but he told me that in Texas, mud flaps were required behind all "commercial" vehicles. Now, we know that converted Skoolies are not commercial buses (had a Judge in Denison, TX agree with me on that recently), but this is the kind of mindset that is prevalent out there.....
