He said I could come get it the next day most likely, but that he'd call me. Its been several days now.
Something is starting to seem fishy about this, or maybe I'm just being impatient. I WAS gonna bring him some donuts, but not so sure now.
Couple things to try...

1) Google the guy's name... Sheisters get shredded by online forums all the time.

2) call from a different phone number and see if he's screening your calls or all calls. Maybe have someone inquire about other listings he may have.

I'm getting the same production with the animal shelter I was trying to adopt through... I searched them and say very good reviews in the later years, but 2012... Not so good, so I figure there was a management change.

I finally got the car yesterday!
The guy is/was super nice and helpful too. Turns out he and the staff had all gotten horribly ill and were out for three days last week, then the guy who had the title was sick.
After sitting for a whole year untouched she fired right up. Rode to the nearest store on low tires with flat spots. After a few miles and correct air pressure it rode pretty good. Will definitely need tires SOON.
What an amazing car, though. I think I'm hooked, these cars are great.
I don't think our POS 2013 Subaru will be getting much use anymore!

Congrats I love those cars!!,once you get good tires and clean fuel in it , you'll get low to mid 20s mpg! Because they made zillions of them parts are everywhere too! The design was basically unchanged from 98 on.

Super cool you got it in hand!!

I'm going to keep an eye on that guy's auction items. He said they had several vans and a ton of police cruisers that were going to be listed soon.
Even with year old gas and four horribly rotten tires, it drove great and seemed to do great on gas. It came with 3/4 tank so we topped it off and the needle has barely moved. I'll definitely be changing out all the filters and fluids this week. It also needs some serious cleaning and a quick paint job.
But for $1499 out the door, its one helluva car.
I had a 2000 civilian vic, but I had to get rid of it. Was a great car but I'd inherited it from my brother and just really didn't like to drive it. The cop version is definitely superior. The brakes and handling are nice, and its definitely got a bit more hp.

I like the PI's much better than the civillian versions although when they offered the LX it was decently cool... I tried to order a new PI when they were announced EOL and *JUST* missed the cutoff.. literally by hours.. a dealer in columbus had a connection and could them for civillians.. same with fleet-side vans and trucks, he could put them through for private customers so you got the full individual option capabilities, things not available to standard showroom vehicles..

Yeah, they're definitely great cars. After driving my Subaru for the last 3 years, I'm totally hooked on this new panther!
I changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter today and topped off the washer fluid and about a half quart of coolant. As I said, the thing sat at least a year. Also put on some really fancy high end wipers a friend provided for FREE.
Next up will be tranny and diff fluids and the coolant will be flushed.
From the looks of everything, though, I think the car was TOTALLY serviced and up to date till they parked it last year. All the fluids still look fairly fresh. The air filter looked like it had seen very little use, but was covered in mud dobber nests really bad, so I grabbed a new Wix at O'reilly's. I noticed the belt tensioner looked like it was recently replaced along with the belt. The hoses and look and feel newer, as well.
Drove it around a bit today and am really digging this thing!

Now all I need to do is keep working hard and stay busy making money and maybe, just MAYBE I'll grab one of these next year when I get the bus done. Man's gotta dream, right??!

That appears to be a turbo...not a Kompressor(?) And superchargers don't employ a CAC (Charge Air Cooler...aka; Intercooler).

If it's an SC where's the belt drive? Turbos use exhaust, supers are mechanicallly driven pumps .

with an aftercooler on a remote belt drive SC, they are really reaching for every hp they can get.

Also some interesting swaps out there. This guy has a Cobra drivetrain. 6 speed manual in a full size sedan is soooo cool!

I managed to get ALL the yellowish specks of whatever was splattered ALL over the car. Took a bit of work, but we actually found that brake cleaner took it off INSTANTLY. So this will be a first for me, I've never washed a car with cans of brake cleaner.
Other than the big rusty spot on the roof and the peeled back spot on the hood, the car looks presentable after a really good wash and detail.
Some v rated performance tires have been ordered and I'm getting them on tuesday, so I'll go ahead and have a little fun this weekend on the old set!
