Need Opinions

I'm just starting my search for a bus. I've been lurking here for awhile and have been educating myself. Does anyone have any opinions/advice regarding this bus I came across on Craigs list?

2001 Blue Bird TCFE 84 Passenger School Bus

Stock No.: L044828
Year: 2001
Make: Blue Bird
Model: TCFE
Engine Make: Cummins ISB 245HP
Transmission: Allison MD3060
Mileage: 129,432
Fuel Type: Diesel
Seating Capacity: 84
Brakes: Air
Air Conditioning: Yes (NOT TESTED)
Options:
Other Notes:

Rust Free Arizona used school bus in good condition with normal wear and tear.
This bus came out of service as a trade-in toward a new Blue Bird school bus.

Thanks Jeff

Yes, that sounds like a great bus, especially if it's from Arizona. One of the best states to buy buses from.

I looked up your bus on Bluebird's VIN site. Looks like the transmission is indeed an MD3060 (lots of sellers incorrectly list transmission type like what happened a few days ago ) This is the best transmission you can get in these buses.

Unit Dashboard | Portal

It looks like it was ordered with 10r22.5s. That's somewhat of an odd tire size. Other thing is that it's a low roof bus with the 74 inch ceiling. Not a deal breaker for some folks, it depends on how you're going to build out your conversion (and how tall you are).

If it aint an arm and a leg (i.e. under $5000-$6000 depending on other factors), seems like a winner to me.

Thanks guys. I'll be raising the roof so current height doesn't matter.

Bluebird and IC are the ones to buy if raising the roof. Sounds like a great bus.

Could be a great bus is the price is right. The TC2000 was an extremely common, extremely popular model and there are tons of them around so the prices tend to be cheap.. but having a md3060 (are you sure about this?) is not common.

The Allison transmission serial # provided on the VIN site is indeed a 3060
