Well even with everything that's been happening life goes on. I pulled the trigger on this beautiful Crown. I will be picking it up next month, and then the fun begins.

It is a gorgeous bus! Mind sharing the info you have such as year, engine, transmission and is that a rear engine vs midship?

I wanted a Crown really bad but the only 2 i could find (west coast) wanted 15k and 16k. They were decent buses but that's a bit more than I could afford. Definitely have some Crown envy goin' on over here! Looks like you also got 1 or 2 pass thru compartments, what a great find! What state did you find it in? Any idea what the mileage is?

The mileage is about 300 but the engine had been rebuilt recently. No rust very clean underneath. I did have my heart set on an old body style but this bus ticked off two many in the plus column.

Wow, I'd say so!! Already gutted and remediated, 3 pass thru under storage compartments and an engine that should go for another decade or 2 minimum with proper maintenance. What a score, nice job, you're gonna have a lot of people watching your build thread for sure, you have an amazing skoolie!

Was the body style change on the Crowns done to increase the internal volume a bit by being more square? Or was it purely for (slightly misguided) aesthetics? Still a very nice-looking bus, and in fantastic shape.

I'm not sure, but if I were to guess I would say it was a last ditch effort to modernize before they closed the doors. The Crowns and the Gillig's were made to last. This bus has an interior height of 6' 4" but I'm 6'2" and I plan to do a roof raise.

Thank you. I am familiar with the old, classic styling and did not know how the Supercoaches looked.

Actually, the twinky (older style) was also a Supercoach. This body was known as the SC II.
