Boy am I glad to find this site! Not real sure where to introduce myself so I chose here. I guess I've been a skoolie since 2000 and didn't know it till a few minutes ago. I'll have to share the bare bones conversion of "Bucky", our 65 passenger C-60, to a travel camper and it's trip from NE Oklahoma to SanFranciso and back elsewhere here when I get some pics dug up. He's had several other adventures since as well. In the mean time the reason I found this site is that I dragged home a 2nd bus this week. It's going to be a much longer project even though it's a much shorter bus. Since I do all my own mechanic work Bucky and I understand one another pretty well at this point but I'm having a little trouble identifying some basic stuff with this new one. Datawise here's what I know: Chassis is International Harvester k3 214 130, 1 Ton Rating; Body by Superior Coach Corp Model 4125. I have a chassis number from IH and a body number from Superior Coach. What I don't have is a VIN number or year of manufacture other than between 1940 and 1946 because it's a K series. If anybody knows how to nail those down I'd appreciate some guidance for the search. I just couldn't stand to see this one rot in the woods anymore. It's a pretty short with a 130in wheel base and has two square sliding windows and one flat rear side window with a rounded rear topside behind the driver. The body inside from ceiling to floor is all aluminum sheet metal and so is the outside down to the bottom of the side windows except for the top front curved corners above the windshield. It looks pretty tough, house paint inside and out, lichen and pack rats saw to that, but it's fairly solid and nearly all original save missing seats, gas tank, exhaust pipe, radiator, water pump and fan. I'd post some pictures but don't know how or where yet for this site. Thanks again.
(13 July) I think I've posted viewable pictures at www.photobucket/k3shortbus
