New kid on the block

Hi all, glad to find this place. I was beginning to think I was the only crazy one who loves school buses.

I have not yet started my project, but will be doing just that in the next 2 years. My wife and I are cross country truck drivers, we've seen some wild stuff out there. We want to get off the road and become full timers in an RV, but they all look the same....I kept seeing these converted school buses, and I told her that's what we should do. She was apposed to the idea until we saw a couple fueling up, she started to come around.

We have been looking for our perfect platform, and we decided to go big or go home. I want a big thomas pusher, diesel of course. I have seen some amazing things done with these, can't wait to start my own project.

Re: New kid on the block

Sweet pics you got there swinada, I have taken a look at some pushers, I really like the Thomas. Tell me how many under floor compartments are there?

I have all kinds of ideas on what to do with what- I am sure they will all change as soon as I get one home, and see reality.
We have gotten plenty of ideas, some may work others may not- I'm pretty good at making things up as I go. That's what I think is really nice about this type of project, I have seen some other online projects, they sort of unfold as the bus demands. I love things that happen that way.

Any place I should start looking for my bus in particular? I live in the US northeast (new Jersey). I don't mind going accross the country to get that perfect bus. I have seen many on e-bay(kind of frightened by that aspect), any of you have some tips on finding one of the big beauties let me know.
