New metal floor preperation

New to us Bus! We tore out both Plywood and metal flooring. We are now ready to replace the old metal flooring and plywood with new metal and plywood. Since we are going with New metal, how should we prepare the metal before putting it down? Do we need to wipe new metal with something to remove a coating? Do we then treat it/paint it with something to retard future rust? Can we do both sides of the metal before putting it down? What is the best stuff to use? We are newbies...Can you tell? Thanks for all your in put!
We plan on painting both sides of the plywood with paint.

New metal, old metal or rusty metal... I treat with OSPHO.

What is OSPHO used for?
When applied to rusted surfaces, it resists/retards rust in chemical change on drying to a tough, hard surface ready for priming. A paint job will last longer after an application of OSPHO because subsequent paint coating securely attaches itself so that moisture and oxygen normally do not attack the metal.

Once Ospho'd, primer and paint.
