New Skoolie

So I have the opportunity to buy a 1985 blue bird bus with a Detroit v8. Now I know this motor is not at the top of the list as far as good motors go but the bus is converted and runs and a friend of mine Owens it and is only selling because he is building a newer one. I can get it for 1500.00. should I, cuz I really want to.

I was just reading a review of various diesel motors - the rating was given as when 50% of the motors could expect serious repairs - they ranged from 350,000 miles for some motors, like CAT, GM, etc, to 500,000 miles for the International - the Detroit diesel was tops at 1,000,000 miles before 50% could expect a serious breakdown

Not the 8.2 Fuel Pincher. Its not a TRUE Detroit. It was a lame duck.
