Nice Handicap Busses on Public Surplus

Ruth and I bought a bus from Gilbert School system in Phoenix Az, a couple of years ago. We are about to do it again. Just noticed that they have a few nice Special needs busses with lifts on their current auction. Closing soon and so far priced right.

There are more but my copy and paster got tired.

They close in about 22 hours, so tomorrow.

1st bus has been cannabalized of parts. All are high mileage. Auction prices always look good the day before closing. Short buses with decent drivetrains.

The one that looks cannibalized was actually vandalized.

We got out 98 40 footer from Gilbert for less than 2000.00 We are pleased with the bus and the price we got. Gilbert tends to auction a bunch of busses with auctions closing close together. It tends to keep the price down.. I had noticed that all the Specialized busses in their auction are higher mileage than the long busses. Guess the special needs students all live out of town?

I'd definitely take a swing at one of those if I had a way.
Far too much going on, but those look real decent.

I bid fierce and early.
IDK why everyone waits till the last minute to bid on an auction that auto extends to eliminate sniping bids.

Somehow last week I managed for the first time in over two years to lock myself out of my bus when I started the bus and then ran inside to get some towels. I had left the door switch on auto so when the pressure came up the door closed. I was getting ready to climb in through the roof hatch but I thought I'd try just forcing the doors and it wasn't too hard to get in that way. Now I know how my bus was robbed when I first got it.

I'm surprised more buses don't get mangled like this. Vandalocks certainly aren't worth anything against it.
