Hello, this is my first post here.
My Fiance and I are about to purchase a beautiful 2002 Thomas Saf-T-Liner MVP ER. It has the Caterpillar 3126 engine which is in great running shape other than needing some power steering fluid, I drove it around and seems to shift good and have lots of power.
My big concern is the rust at the rear of the bus. the midsection as well as the front and body don't have enough rust to concern me. I didn't have a screwdriver to poke around but i did the best I could with my hands and did not find any parts of the "frame" that seemed hollow or soft. (original coating has for sure flaked off though.
The body only has a couple of rusty spots that could be easilly cut out and delt with. But take a look at this undercarriage, There is a second part of the frame that sits under the engine. It seems to me that this could be removed and replaced.
