Put your thinking caps on.

I would like to find a diesel that would fit into my rear engine Bluebird. What is the biggest engine that would fit. Of course, I am budget minded, so it would have to be something that I could pull out of another bus or truck for cheap. I want cubes, so size does matter.

Re: Put your thinking caps on.

The 6CT was an option and if you can fit an 8.3 I-6 Cummins I would imagine you could fit a 671 Detroit which would probably get that bus screaming.

Re: Put your thinking caps on.

I have an 8.3 in one RE, but I'm looking to replace that CNG in the other. I curious if something larger will fit.

Re: Put your thinking caps on.

I would think the 8.3 is the way to go. Even though the 5.9 is inferior to the 8.3, it probably costs more on the open market as everybody and their brother is looking for one to put into their pickup.

How cool would that big cummins be in a 1 ton pickup? I'm sure there is some redneck with too much spare time on his hands and a welder that has found out.

You don't ask a woman how old she is or a guy how many buses he owns.

Just kidding. I have four. You can see the pics on the bottom.

We are the rest of the insane people. If you look back in history it was the quacks that made the differences in our lives today.
