Re: Reaching out to other Skoolies

The closest skoolies to me are the guy in Roswell with the really long combo setup and the guy touring the world in Silver City. Neither one is what you would call.... close. Someone is or was up in Datil but he quit posting here.

Re: Reaching out to other Skoolies

PUT YOUR LOCATION DOWN PEOPLE...AT LEAST PUT DOWN WHAT STATE YOU ARE IN!!!!!! I sorted based on "website, location" and was on page 61 before hitting locations. And some are ones who are actively posting... no state to tell us WHERE you are. And then there are the "cute" descriptions.... At least put down what state you are currently tagged in.

Many of the folks who are listed as members either posted for a little while or only made a couple of posts and then stopped. I think the conversion process scares them off for one, unwilling spouse for another and potential problems getting a skoolie into a private campground for another. We really can't help with the first two reasons but we can start posting over on http://www.rvparkreviews that we are in skoolies when we leave a review (good or bad). As for the number that are online compared to the skoolies on the road. I feel that is an awful lot like the online RV community and the RVs on the road. Some one once estimated that something like 3% MAX of all the RVers in US and Canada are online at any RV related forum. It's probably a similar percentage of skoolie folks. The 3% translates into some very low numbers.

NM "Members" (other than me) I think this is all that is listed...
desertfeet ... 0 posts (joined 2007... last visited 2007)
ezbme... Datil... 624 posts (joined in 2009... last visited 2010) he is up in Datil (same county as I am in) but hasn't posted in a while....
lemitar... Farmington... 6 posts (joined 2010... last visited 2010) (now you would think if their screen name was "lemitar" they would live in Lemitar)
bigun... Mountainair... 0 posts (joined 2006... last visited 2007)
whitedog... NM... 6 posts (joined 2005... last visited -)
staggerlee917... Santa Fe... 37 posts (joined 2004... last visited 200
bk2valve... TorC... 18 posts (joined 2006... last visited 2009)
the guy in Roswell apparently isn't there anymore
SeanF... Silver City... 408 posts (joined 2004... last visited 2011)... "nobody home"...off gallivanting around the world

Re: Reaching out to other Skoolies

As close as I can tell Ft Wayne is the closest, but inactive, some have registered and never posted. There are a LOT of members who haven't listed anything.

Re: Reaching out to other Skoolies

Browncrown is parked in Bakersfield, CA...Nashville west, where agriculture and oil are king, and skoolies are welcome with open arms. Born and raised here and its a good place to call home even though it has grown so very much over the past two decades (nearly a half million people now) So if you pass through my area, stop and say hi!

I call Prescott, Arizona home for the last 19 years. If anyone is around or passing through, drop me a line.

Browncrown, I will be in your neck of the woods first to second quarter of next year. I will keep in touch.... sure would like to see that Crown in person.

Love AZ. Rode the train from Williams to the canyon last year, and a few years back, a trip to Sedona. I wanted to get a baby Saguaro and plant it, but after research I found out it takes up to 50 years for them to grow the arms, so I figured at my age, why bother

Anyway keep in touch and do drop by when you cruise through!
