Removing Seats on a 2011 International AC bus - helpful advice?

Hi all!
Need to remove some seats on my "new" 2011 International.
I've never done it so could use some helpful hints or guidance on
best practices, tools to use etc. Thanks.
Mariza

If you have a helper (and a largely unrusted bus) the easiest way is to have one person on the bottom putting a vice grips on each nut and a person inside loosening the bolt with an impact driver - or even just some wrenches. I had to cut most of my bolts off because of rust, but I did remove two of the seats with a vice grips on the nuts underneath; I used an ordinary wrench and a hammer to get the bolt started, and then a ratchet wrench to undo it fully. Power tools are great but not even strictly necessary for this job.

If you have to cut any bolts away, I found the easiest way was to use a cutting wheel to cut down through the bolt head three times, dividing it into six wedges and then nibbling them away, then using a grinding disc to remove the rest of the material.

I used an angle grinder. I just aimed at a slight angle and grinded each bolt head off from inside the bus. One side if each chair in my bus was attached to a rail along the wall. For those bolts one of us held the bottom of the bolt with locking pliers while the other used a electric ratchet. We had no issues.

what others said.. for the easy bolts.. ie the ones accessible from the top and bottom, a helper is the way to go.. impact gun on the bottom, wrench on top, run the nuts off and go.. many bolts will be covered up by items as the body is built in the factory and then set on the chassis.. for those you can grind off as mentioned..

I put vice grips on the bolt heads then crawled under n took the nuts off with a ratchet. this way I could do it by myself. as you turn the nut the vice grip would spin until it was stopped by the seat frame and then the nut would spin free. lots of squirming back n forth under the bus but not too bad there will probably be a few you cant access and will need to cut from the inside with an angle grinder
