Red face Replacement windows

I am working on a bus- a 1964 Crown Supercoach. It was converted back in the 1980s. The person who did the conversion took big aluminum sheets and put them over the openings where the windows were. He replaced them with louvred windows that I'm guessing from the size were RV windows from the 80s.

Those now have to go. The cranks are broken. They don't seal properly. It's just not working.

I'm trying to find replacement windows and having a hard time finding a comparable size, except for RV windows which I've heard are of low quality.

The rough openings now appear to be 4 in the front at 18/75" H x 54" W. In the back there are 2 at 30" W x 14" H

Again, we could go smaller if needed. But would rather put in the largest windows possible for natural light. I don't want to go bigger because it looks like that would require cutting into the metal frame of the bus

I've looked at Jeld-Wen and just sent them a message similar to this one in case there is an option I'm not seeing

I welcome any and all help

Interesting... I had always heard that RV windows were the way to go. Most RV stuff has a bad rap around here for being expensive yet cheaply-made, but I thought that the high-end conversions I've seen on this site go with double-pane rv windows.

Regardless, I think it's unlikely that you'll find any replacements with the exact dimensions of those old windows. I suggest you steel yourself (or aluminum yourself?) to the idea of reskinning with new sheet meta cut to fit whatever windows you buy.

I'll be curiously watching to see what others with actual experience in this topic have to say. Until then, can we see some pics of your bus and these funky old windows?

Cool bus! But yeah... Those windows look leaky for sure!

Thank you very much for your reply

It's looking like the only size I could plug in that are close to the size of what's in there now are indeed RV windows

I don't want to cut into the metal framing that is structural to the bus so I'd be cautious to go larger than what's in there now
