Reusing ceiling panel query

Quick question ... I'm considering reusing some of a metal ceiling panel to patch the emergency hatch hole. Anyone else done this? Any recommendations / guidance?

I plan to cut a hole in the patch to install an AC unit, and will build a support frame on the interior ceiling for the unit.

Thanks!!

I was concerned about using the thinner ceiling metal on the roof, being worried of the A/C's weight bowing it in.
Plus, it's periodic incontinence aside, I like having it there! Propped open for airflow & heat dissipation, I have designed a collapsible ladder for roof access thru it.
I went 2 segments back, cutting a hole with a reciprocating saw the precise size called for by Dometic. It seals well; never a leak, altho that thicker skin still does bow in a little from the weight.
iMi dos centavos!

It should work fine. Just frame it up nice and sturdy.

I used some ceiling panels I'd taken down to patch some roof stuff. Its thin but it'll work.
