Question Roof Raise help

Hello all, been lurking around the forum for a while, but this is my first post.

I am in the process of finishing the roof raise on my Thomas saf-t-liner RE, and I've realized that I might have made a mistake. I made a cut on the wrong side of the hat channel, where i was planning to have the transition piece up front. As a result, the hat channel was not raised with the rest of the roof. So now, I am faced with the decision to either simply move my transition piece back one frame, or add the necessary framework and start the transition where the cut was made. I'm just looking for a some opinions since i'm torn on which route i should take. I added a picture to try and make sense of what i'm talking about. Thank you in advance!!
