We want to install one of the sunroof vent fans where the escape hatch is. The opening is 22” square on the escape hatch. All the roof vent fans seem to be standard 14” square. Has anyone found a larger one that either fits perfectly, or at least requires less work? Any advice on how to build out the opening to fit a standard one? Thanks!
A local HVAC guy could bend something up for not much.
Key is not providing anyplace for rain to pool, downhill all around, double up on butyl rubber and adhesive sealant, maybe 3M 4200 the UV resistant one.

Most people just skin over the 22" opening with sheet metal, then cut a new 14" hole for the fan. I think we used 16 or 18ga sheet metal on ours.

Makes sense. I was hoping for a bigger vent, but I’m just not finding any.
