Should I Buy a "CAT 7.2L L6 DIESEL"??????????

I am about to start this wonderful adventure and I recently found a bus that checks all the boxes: perfect length 28.5', mileage 81,000, the year 2005, 6,7 ceiling(which i understand is unusual), good wheels, except one...the engine. The add says "CAT 7.2L L6 DIESEL" which I am assuming is the C7. if it was a Dt466 or Cummins I would be all over it but since it is not I was curious if anyone has experience with this engine and has any good or bad words to say. There are tons of opinions with the Cat brand on this forum and I was wondering if a bus with this low of mileage is better. Also how much you all would pay because as of now they are asking $8000 which is a bit steep.

I have no experience with the engine, like you said you saw plenty of discussion on it. Are you okay with the post 2004 emmissions control problems that people experience here? That was more of a concern to me than the actual engine brand.

Definitely watch the "Adept Ape" videos on the 3126 & C7 engines (same block) found on youtube.

For that kinda money asking to see a printout from a CAT dealer (who can read the engine and trans history for codes and condition) seems a reasonable thing. That's ridiculously low mileage -- I'd like it confirmed before paying that kinda money. If correct that engines newly new -- good for another 200,000 if maintained right.

My 3126 starts and idles like new and it has 178,000 on it. Blackstone Labs gave me an analysis of my old eng oil before I changed it indicating nothing abnormally worn in my engine...
