Silly little tips

I'm hopeing that this will become a thread of small tips/tricks to remember.
Don't forget to add an explanation.
#1.

On a T444e do NOT hold the throttle just above idle to help charge batteries.

Beceause this is an electronic diesel, doing that makes the ECM $h!t the bed and make the engine not run on all cylinders and have no throttle response one the accelerator is released. These are flaws this engine appears to just have.

#2.

Houshold siding sealent is basically bondo.

It comes in tubes like caulking. The stuff I buy is orange. It takes several days to harden but is sandable. When it is hardened there is still some give in it.

96 thomas re. rear emergency exit alarm wires. yellow must go to ground, white cap off, blue cap off. side door alarm. blue cap off, two whites must cap together, two yellows must cap together.

Or you find where they're connected to the busbar and remove them. Unless eliminating them entirely disables the bus.

I pulled all my emergency exit leads from the wiring harness, and it still runs. Anyone else with a Thomas want to weigh in?

96 thomas re, one more thing, if the safety alarms are going off and it wont turn over you can leave the key on and open engine door and while holding the door buttin in start with remote start button. ya it took a bit to figure that out!
