Storage Box handles

I have a few storage boxes under my '95 Int Thomas 5 window bus. (one is the battery box). The issue is the handles don't work on two of them. I bought a new one through TAC Bus parts and it seems to be a perfect fit. The issue is how in the hell are these things mounted. It looks like they may be spot welded in but I'm not sure. If I knew for sure I can grind or drill the old ones out and just rivet in the new one. Has anyone dealt with these before? Non-locking handles. I'll try to take some pics tomorrow.
