Temp gauge on 01 bluebird

Hey guys, newbie here. I have a 01 Bluebird that has a temp gauge that gets stuck all the way to the right. Itís misleading and makes our drivers think that the bus is overheating when itís not when all actuality, I just tap on the gauge and it returns to normal. Iíve watched several videos and several say to check the thermocouple, I donít know what do yíall think?

Thermocouple or sensor, will either short out or open up.... it has nothing to do with tapping on the gauge. Replace the gauge.
