The newb

I've already posted once on here. but figured i'd introduce myself. My name is jason. I live in Kansas. I'm looking at a 94 Ford 66 passenger bus with a cummins 5.9 and a 5 speed. I've been looking for something to replace my 3/4 ton suburban as my tow rig. My main criteria was it had to hold at between 4-6 people if not more and be able to haul a fullsize truck. oh and it had to be diesel. A school bus seems to be the only thing in my price range that fits my criteria. Plus I can put a living quarters in it and save on a hotel. I go to quite a few car shows during the summer and ussually have a truck load of guys riding with me.

Test drove the bus i want today. Got it up to 65 and felt like it could do more. speed limit was only 55 so i didn't want to push it. I like the 5 speed though the first gear seems useless unless it's loaded down. Hope to pick it up next wednesday and get started on it.

It'll be a enclosed car hauler btw.

Re: The newb

I have 2 1992 Ford B700 65 pass Thomas body busses and would sell 1 of them. They both have right at 200k 5.9 Cummins and an Allison AT545. Not a manual but will do 65 MPH. I own 3 and bought them because of the engines. One is a completed conversion (of the exact same platform and close in serial) and plan on converting one of the others. You can pick what you consider the best of the two, test drive, check out, whatever you want to do. Would like $2500. All 3 are in Florida. The first one I bought was great with no problems which is why I bought 2 more. Also have an Orion transit that I would sell for $3500.

the one i'm looking at is only 2 hours away and only has 155k on it. plus i'm hoping to pay about 1/2 of what your asking. thanks though. What kind of mileage do you get?

Also I've had some cummins before and think i can do a couple things and get this thing to do 75 pretty easy.
