Here's a nice shorty in their inventory list like the ones that everyone here fights over. 2004 so a very high chance it has the A2000 trans.

Those IC instrument clusters from that era are so sketchy who knows. But yeah 300k actual miles would keep the price fairly low.

I am in Virgina and if I do wind up purchasing the bus that is something I'm interested in if it doesn't affect gas milage negatively.
Thanks!

If you're still interested in the HDX chassis, there is this bus from M&M. I remember seeing it pop up a few months back and thought already sold, clearly it did not. Has underbody luggage bays and is high roof (6'7"ish interior height) unlike the first bus you were looking at. She looks filthy on the inside, but a good cleaner should work wonders. Pictures show virtually no rust aside from a little light surface rust on the undercarriage. They are asking $3,500 for it.

We run 15w-40 in all the diesel buses at my work, I run it in both my bus and my 7.3l pickup. According the manual on page 271, the T444E takes 19.5 qts, which sounds about right for the last oil change in my truck.
The injection system on the T444E and the 3126 are of the Hydraulic Electric Unit Injector (HEUI) type. The engine takes its base oil pressure and jacks up the pressure a few thousand psi. This oil is then held in rails feeding each injector. Fuel is supplied separately to the injector. The electrically controlled solenoid in the injector releases the high pressure oil onto a piston inside the injector to squirt fuel out into the cylinder. Due to the nature of this operation, these engines are hard on their oil and the quality of oil can have a significant impact on how the engine runs. Use a synthetic oil if you can find it.

It's good for me that I didn't buy a bus with a DT466 engine. That's a lot of oil!

I think they all use a fair amount of oil, measured in gallons (though I can't speak to the van chassis models). Our DT466 uses 28qts (or 7 gallons) of oil with filter change. In the grand scheme of things oil is a pretty minor expense.

Why is this bus jerking during acceleration?
In town driving has caused this bus to jerk during acceleration. The fuel has been in it for a year I believe. What could cause this? What should I do?

Mine jerked a fair bit too when I first got it. Those buses were driven pedal to the floor while in service and the transmission has learned to deal with it. Resetting the shift adaptions may resolve the problem, mine were reset when I got the transmission unlocked and the bus drove a lot smoother afterwards.
If you would like, you can PM me with your location or a place where we can arrange to meet and I can reset the adaptions. I've just had some success with cloning a TCM as well and we may be able to unlock 6th gear at the same time with cloning.

Don’t forget, someStates will not allow licensing if the frame has lots of rust on it. I’d go for a 466dt before the 7.3l. Big bus and 300 hp can get you better mileage than the 7.3l. That engine has to work really hard high rpms to get anything done. Low low mileage
