Tires and miles

I asked a question about a 2001 Bluebird Freight liner with a 5.9 cummins...someone said they didn't make this series in this year...well,they do! I had it checked out. Originally I was told it had 160,000 miles, but it actually has 298,000 miles. That seems really high? $4,500 is asking price. The tire date on front is from 2011,back 2015 and look new, and it just came off the school route this year. On my campers I always replaced tires every 4-5yrs. I thought all vehicles followed that rule? The bus is really clean, drives good, and no rust except on driving column. I am looking for feedback...I want to make the best decision possible.

The 5.9 Cummins is a good little engine but for me 300k is just way too much mileage, especially at that price.

The worst rust is almost never visible, it's under the floor. If you have visible areas of rust, you can rest assured the floor will be worse. 300k on that motor is a deal breaker. A route bus typically sees 10k miles a year, this one average 16k. That's a lot of miles ona 5.9 with ,surely, an AT545 behind it.
I could tell you difinitively whether to run from it or not, where is it from?

Odessa,Tx. I’m not buying it. I’ve heard so many negatives from the miles to the tires to the turbo needing replaced and on.
