Updating Hood on my skoolie

I have a 2002 Freightliner/Thomas FS-65 bus. The hood has seen better days with numerous cracks and other damage. I will be replacing it but curious if anyone has ever updated an older bus with a newer hood, not sure if it is even possible but I figured if anyone would know it would be this group.

Oh yeah. It’s been done. You gotta go south of the border for this kinda work. Somebody here plans to go there to get his bus painted.

I know that’s not what you meant but……..

That is a little extreme lol. My main goal is better looks obviously but also the better headlights that come in the later models. If this is more work than it is worth then I will just go to Amazon and get a set of the LED replacement headlights.

Uh, I think that was me and I was kidding about that. Nice paint jobs, though.

I think one challenge is that bus hoods have become more "slopey" recently. That's the official word and nobody can tell me otherwise...unless it slopeular? But to improve visibility towards the front, the slope angle has increased and I would expect that might make it hard to retrofit a recent hood over the radiator of an older boxy hood configuration.
