Thanks, coming from you that really means a lot man. back in the 90's I obsessed over the aesthetics of this project. I appreciate the kind words. This bug means more to me than any car ever.

Dude!
I replied to your email response on the day.
The site rewarded me with a [muy rapido] response that your mail account was, "Full."
And now only shows me a *severely* truncated version of my response to you in my outbounds
Not telling ya to, but you might need do some weeding &/or winnowing in that time-space nexus.

I can try.
Prolly successfully, as *all* of my ex old ladies assured me that [at one time, or another (or constantly)]: that I AM trying.
But:
Meteoric, my thoughts flash outta existence *immediately* following their introduction to your atmosphere
Recap: Sorry your '20's've been worse than otherwise typically experienced.

I had an '87 Westphalia Vanagon. Drove it 197,000 miles on the original clutch. Never had the heads off, and no major repairs in the 15 plus years I drove it.

Parked it because I thought how can a clutch last almost 200,000 in a Vanagon. Alas, the mice got in it. Gave it to an ex-wife, and it awaits a new life.

I now drive a 2006 VW Golf tdi. Outside of a timing belt the only thing it gets is new fluid and filters.

I have had really good luck with the VW's.

Can't resist. Who'd want 'em? I had a '58 bug that would have made Lucas proud, a "62 van that wouldn't stop until you hit something and a Variant that was so gutless that the light would change before you could get across the intersection--even if first in line. Give me a Studebaker Lark anytime.

My parents had a '64 bus. It was terrible. Then a '71 camper and that wasn't bad. When I got the '87 Vanagon, it was like they finally figured out the perfect VW bus.
An my '06 tdi has been a great car, always at the mid-40's in mpg.

I'm quite used to what is considered under powered vehicles, but with a stick shift you can still make them move.
