Still got the 66' Beetle I bought when I was 15 sitting in my folks' garage.
I need to get it out of there one day and get it back on the road.
Nice buggy!

I have a 1974 VW Thing - I have been building and rebuilding VWs since high school and I have owned at least one of every model.

I had every VW except the Thing and KG.
My favorite was a 67 SO42 Westy I got for $800. Pimpest ride at my whole high school!

I used to have a 69 beetle with the drop spindles on the front & a buddy of mine had one also but he Hung a 350 chev off the back, couldn't drive the thing if the street was wet the front end was so light.

I sold this about 6 months ago. Part of me wishes I didn't but it was time.

62 VW, built as a Class 1 Baja. Ran in the Parker 425 a few years ago. These shots are taken when I was in AZ. I loved it there. 800 ft from my garage was a 2 track that I could take to Tombstone and taking a 2 track to Yuma was possible too.

I had a lot of fun in this car. I didn't baby it either.

Here is our 71 baja. 1776 motor, 3x3 boxed trailing arms, thing front beam widened 8", ghia disc brakes, 12 point cage etc. We used to have a blast in this thing untill i got the bright idea to trade it for an 85 k10...one of my biggest regrets. Dont mind the couch in the yard i was waiting till the dump was open ha ha

Gotta get pics up, but spent the afternoon on my current project- getting my 66 type 1 sedan out of hibernation. Been parked since at least 1997/98!
Pulled out boxes upon boxes of cool old VW parts and accessories.

Bus is gonna be on hold till this is at least to a decent stopping point.

Things to do-
Finish assembling the new adjustable front beam and suspension/steering components.
Get the shift linkage bushings re-welded in the tunnel so it'll shift.
Get wheels and tires since my mint set of VINTAGE Empi 5-spokes were stolen about 5 years ago.
Get a fuel tank in it, I lost the original lol.

After sorting through parts and stuff and messing around with it, I'm now waiting on tie rods, wheels, tires, and brake master cylinder to finish up the front and get it out of the garage for the first time in 20 years!!!!
After a few years messing with buses and mopeds the VW will be a nice change of pace, and they're so SIMPLE!

My wife says my bus is like a big VW: well-engineered, solid, easy to work on, able to get to things, and fun.

I had a 411 wagon for a couple of years in high school/college, but I'll be damned if I can find any pictures at this point.

Those were always fairly hard to find. At least for me. The only 411's I ever saw were parts cars or sitting in junk yards.
Haven't seen one in a LONG time!

I've decided I really should document the resurrection of this car. Its literally sat unmoved for 20 years!

One of my neighbors used to have a bug with a heavily tuned Porsche engine in it. He had to keep cinder blocks in the trunk to keep the drive wheels on the ground.
