Warning light code

I have a warning light and got this code from the flashing and beeping through the dash. 5 3 9. Anyone know how I can interpret this code?

The warning light came on and off a few times and has reduced power when the light is on. Any help is appreciated.

539 Transient Suppressor Circuit

Cummins ISL & ISC Fault Codes:

Found answer -> HERE

The transient suppressor absorbs the extra current created when the injection control valve closes after an injection event. Without the transient suppressor, high voltage would be transmitted back into the ECM and damage the pump driver circuits.
The transient suppressor extends from the trunk of the engine harness and is mounted with a p-clip to the engine block. It is a small copper colored cylinder with a red and a black wire extending from one end. It is located just below where the injection lines connect to the fuel pump. The injection control valve is located at the rear of the fuel injection pump, on the top of the distributor, and below the accumulator.The only way to check the Suppressor is to cut it out off the engine harness, We remove and replace the suppressor. If the suppressor fails too long it can cause the ecm and ICV to also fail.

I found it on my engine and it doesn’t look to hard to replace; I hope I can find somebody with one that’s open tomorrow, otherwise I’ll have to wait till Monday.

Yeah I know, CAPS! This is the only code so I’m hopeful it’ll just be this suppressor. $216 Canadian so maybe $150 USD. It doesn’t look like it’s in stock anywhere nearby so I will probably have to order one in on Monday. I extended my stay at this campground till Friday since I don’t want to have to start the engine till this is fixed. With any luck it’ll be here before I have to move it.

I have a full time fuel pump feeding the CAPS with positive fuel pressure and I also add a lubricant to the fuel so I hopefully never have to replace that CAPS.

So I picked up the suppressor on Sunday; I had contacted Cummins in Edmonton on Saturday and spoke with their on call guy since it was after hours. He said he didn’t think they had one in stock but called me on Sunday when he was doing another call and said they did! I rushed over (major benefit of towing a car) and picked it up. Took me about half hour to install and everything is back as it should be!

I kept the old suppressor as I plan to dissect it. I bet I could make one for less than $20 depending what’s inside exactly. It’s a small piece of copper pipe with 2 wires coming out.

Probably nothing inside except for a Z-mov. (metal oxide varistor) ???

Or maybe a TVS diode ??

As good of an outcome as you could ask for.
