Well that's a unique Skoolie...
I saw this unique build at (where else?) Walmart!! They took a van, slapped it on top of a bus, and now have a redneck double decker!!

Haha, best part is it looks like they have 2 cheap Harbor Freight ratchet straps holding the whole conglomeration together! I have a bunch of them, guess I can start using them for much bigger loads!

Is that a water tank on top that the ratchet straps are holding on?

I was thinking it was some variation of a Westfala, making that a 3 story Skoolie.

Skoolies like this give me confidence that I'm never going to be pulled over for any reason even with my bus in the state it's in right now.

I'm hoping you're wrong...
I think the straps are just holding down the scrap metal on top of the mini-van which is still frightening at hwy speeds...
Some rough math puts that confabulation (confuculation?) at over the 13.6" limit but hey, 'merika!
and who am I to argue with their fine paint job...

I'm still trying to decide if the painting on the back is a cow wearing glasses, or a pair of boobs......

I found another picture of it. There is honestly so much...right with this bus. If it's stationary in Slab City.
On the road, I don't know if I would actually hang with them or not.

This side's so much more fun!
Had to look up "Slab City" -- I guess there's no underpass in the desert to worry about with setup...

Oh come on --
I'd love to ride in the front seat of the mini-van going down a two-track. The views would be incredible...

The plates said Montana, but this photo was taken in Minnesota, just outside Minneapolis. Not exactly the open desert. One of my favorite touches is the cardboard signs on all four sides both asking for donations for gas money and advertising the sale of tie dye goods. The minivan windows are all spray painted over, except the windshield. I wonder if they were high and saw a minivan with one of those extra storage pods on the roof, then decided that the minivan could BE the storage pods on their roof!!

Something like this either gets you or it doesn't
I love it. I would buy some of whatever tie dye stuff they are selling, and probably throw extra money on there just to keep them on the road- particularly if they are young.
Back in the day the (actual) hippie cool guys my older sisters knew had an expression for stuff like this:
"Fuzzmagnet.."

Geez, I guess y'all have never been to a dead show. Plenty of old buses with old (VW) buses on top. It's just in poor taste to use a Chrysler though
