1999 International Genesis AmTran 37', Dt466/3060. 250k. From Craigslist in Butte,Mt. I flew from Atl. To Twin Falls,Id. where the seller picked me up and drove me 5 hours to the bus. I paid them $3500 for the bus and headed to Seattle for 2 days and then back to Atl. $1500 in fuel. So I could say my bus cost $5k. Worth everything I went through for it.

I like to think so but its far from perfect. And I had to get it out of Jersey city.
Body is a little banged up, rust here and there, needs drivetrain servicing and I think some front end work because of some clunking and bump steer. But I love it😁

It was and it was. Got to go visit my brother in Seattle after picking it up and then 3 days back to Atl. Long enough trip to learn that 85mph yields 7mpg, 65 is closer to 10. 1st trip took me through every scenario I would encounter, tall mountains, highway speeds, all kinds of weather. I was a pro when I pulled into the driveway with 3k in 3 days.

FamTran

Bought at online auction site unseen, 40' 1999 AmTran RE DT530e 285hp/800ftlb 118,000 miles, MD3060, new tires, air suspension, air brakes. Underbody is rusty, one front brake is sticking which wore the tire funny in the few miles they had on them.. Had "idles rough" in the description, when I picked it up the mechanic said it was random and it idled fine and got me home running strong, later idled funny in my shop, found a loose connection at the valve cover and problem was solved. All and all I am happy, 3300$ after auction fees.

That makes me feel a little better about the deal I got on mine

Near zero rust, runs and drives great. The only thing I have needed so far is an oil change.

Tires, batteries and coolant change will be on the list before we go on the road.

Galloping Goose

I paid $5500 for a 2001 Bluebird CS. With a Cummins ISC, Allison B300, air ride front and rear axles, carrier transicold coach AC, spray foamed under floor, rotogrip auto chains and espar diesel coolant heat. New steer tires and good drives. The CAPS pump was recently replaced, pump manufacture date is 2015. Looks like it had been well maintained with almost no rust.

So far I have changed the engine oil and filters, replaced the batteries ($600) , replaced the AC clutch ($400)and recharged the AC ($100).

I still need to change out the coolant, transmission fluid/filters. I'm also planning on regearing the rear end and adding a Detroit locker ($3000) and unlocking 6th. ($400?)

It adds up fast.

Hi. I paid 500$ for mine. Older conversion with Everything inside except plumbing when purchased. 1974 GMC. Ward bus. Kind of ironic. I was born in 74.

Dual A/C, new brakes, rust free AZ bus. Took 45 minutes to remove all of the seats and the best part is that there are no interior wheel wells to deal with, all usable room. Bus in excellent condition. $8,000.

You are a sick puppy

I HATE flying commercial. My last two trips I have been selected for "enhanced screening".

Both times, after I forewarned of recent surgery, they managed to cause me significant pain. They took all of my stuff into a back room and held it until they were done. The first time they failed to give me my truck keys back. I was so pissed that I didn't realize that they kept my keys until we had taken off.

I landed at the airport, 70 miles from home, with no keys. The local Chevy dealer's service manager stayed late so that I could take a cab to the dealership. They were able to cut a key from the VIN. Then another employee, that had just gotten off work, offered me a ride back to the airport.

I didn't know the Chevy dealership has Angels on the payroll.

Now I don't hate all flying. I was the winning bidder on a truck about 3-1/2 hours drive Away. The pastor of my church offered to fly me in his plane to pick it up. That I enjoyed.

Any more I avoid commercial air travel.
