What is it?

Hey everyone 👋🏼! I stumbled across some cool lost treasures today.

The city has been working on this road extension for a while and finally opened it up. Imagine my excitement when my 9 and 10 yr old daughters and myself got a glimpse of this! I immediately did a u-turn and pulled to the side of the road. My girls didn’t seem as excited as I was, but they know the drill by now. The city had actually cleared the road easement right up to the tree line and not disturbed the treasures that rest there. Can anyone chime in on year/ make?

Teradactyl from 17BC, ran when parked there.
No discernable badging, 40's- early 50's maybe.

The front looks a bit like a Freightliner or Kenworth COE but, I can't find any pictures of a Freightliner with the grill curved on top. Kenworths did but I can't find any of them with single headlights.
Looked at a lot of bus pictures and didn't find anything close.

I don't think it's GM

I've been looking all morning and the rear looks like the mid to late 40's like I pictured but that nose I can't find anywhere.
I've definitely found the rear on google images, though-

Is it a Waybe body?

Closest I can find!
Can't find out much about the "8000 and 9000" series by Wayne but that's sure what it looks like.

This is a fun bus mystery. I just hope someone comes along who actually knows what this is for sure. It sure is an odd one!

Those old busses have so much character compared to modern models.

Is it near enough that you could look for a ID tag anywhere on it?
