What to offer?

Greetings from Georgia,my wife and I have found our dream bus but I'm not sure what kind of money its worth, so before making an offer I was hoping to get some ideas from out there in bus land. Its a 1988 bluebird 40 ft coach bought new by a local church and has all service records. The tech info is, it has an 8.2 Detroit with Allison 4 speed auto, Thermo King rear AC unit, tons of underbody storage, Alcoa alum rims, new batteries and so on. The problem is it's not a school bus so I'm having a problem finding pricing info. If anyone has any suggestions they would be greatly apprecieated. Thanks again

Re: What to offer?

We paid $1400 for our BlueBird school bus in the summer of 2009. But since the bus you are looking at is owned by a church, they will want top dollar and then some for it. We tried to buy an Eagle from a church once. They refused to let us have a mechanic look it over. So we looked elsewhere. Later I heard that the guy who bought the bus spent a fortune fixing the "well-kept" bus. Ended up replacing the transmission and rebuilt the motor. Before you make an offer on the bus, take it to a mechanic of your choosing. Preferably one that is not affiliated with the church in anyway. Yes, I do distrust churches. We've been screwed over by more than one in business dealings.
