Re: Who washed your bus today?

Mother Nature can wash my bus... every time it rains. We did wash it when we first got it. Took forever and it was exhausting work. There was so much mildew on it we couldn't touch it. So we hauled out the power washer and discovered some of the windows were not sealed. So we left the windows alone (and the moss) and cleaned it as best we could. Topaint, I wiped down the bus, a section at a time, with a white vinegar drenched towel (to cut the dirt and road grime) and deglosser.

I also don't wash my Jeep. It doesn't run well if it gets soap on it. Periodically David insists "R-Jeep" gets a soapy bath (in a car wash). But then the poor thing runs poorly for a week. Plain water is okay, but not soap.

Re: Who washed your bus today?

Raining in Oregon.. so God washed it.
I am not washing the thing until it's gonna be a few dry days, and then paint it.

Re: Who washed your bus today?

Washed mine on Saturday, and of course it rained yesterday. But it had been looking pretty dirty, so it needed it. Have to take it out on the road this weekend and didn't want to go out with all that dirt.

Re: Who washed your bus today?

@ Lorna -
That reminds me of my friend and I at the car wash spraying off his '46 Willy's after a bit of play in the woods. Lots of big chunks of mud and clay up under the fenders etc.

We were just finishing up when a sparkling clean (to us, anyway) grand cherokee pulled in to a nearby wash stall. The funny thing was the decal on their windshield that said "Its a Jeep thing, you wouldn't understand". Sounds like your jeep would prefer the Willy's treatment.

Re: Who washed your bus today?

I can really imagine that your arms are tired after washing your bus. When I wash my bus I always ask friends and family for help because I cannot do it on my own.

Re: Who washed your bus today?

In Oregon here, raining so much that water is 4 inches deep on my work site that the bus is parked on... Not to mention.. that all the Shih Tzus wont go outside in the pouring rain to pee...
