WHY I HAVENT BEEN AROUND SURGERY AND ..................
So here is a link to a thread I have ongoing on another board
The language could, may or will upset people...well some people
Read title of link before clicking if you have problems or bad memories of chemo (that was my disclaimer )
http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_1_5/162352 ... _dose.html
I am doing fine now, Day 4 and I have very limited time and internet so updates to this thread may be far between
Thanks in advance!!!!!
i WILL BE SPOTTY ON THE BOARD NEXT FEW MONTHS
We will be hitting the coast again this fall in the bus tho'

Re: WHY I HAVENT BEEN AROUND SURGERY AND ..................
Testicular cancer is one of the most curable forms of cancer.
Quote:
http://www.cancertreatment.net/artic...-survival-rateThe median age at diagnosis from testicular cancer is 33; in fact, a full 47.6% of men or nearly half of all diagnoses of testicular cancer occur between the ages of 20 and 34. A little over one fourth of all cases occur in men between 35 and 44.
The median age of death for men with testicular cancer is 40, with over 57% of those occuring in men between the ages of 20 and 44. As men age, their risk for being diagnosed with or dying from testicular cancer goes down.
Testicular cancer is one of the most treatable and survivable cancers known to modern medicine, with 5 year survival rates as high as one could possibly hope for in the realm of cancer treatment. The following statistics show the extent to which the cancer is known to have spread (local, regional, metastatic, and unknown or undocumented), followed by what is referred to as a 5-year survival relative percentage—this figure represents the number of people expected to be alive 5 years following diagnosis:
-- Localized disease: 99.0%
-- Regional disease: 96.1%
-- Metastatic disease: 72.7%
-- Stage unknown: 85.5%
While one can see that when caught early, as many as 99% of patients will successfully be treated for testicular cancer, the most impressive figure is the percentage of patients with metastatic disease who are expected to survive 5 years or more: 72.7 % for metastatic disease is extremely impressive, and indicative of the success of modern anti-cancer treatments and therapies aimed at this particular cancer.

(Bansil's is in the "regional" category)
I know Bansil can beat it. He's a strong skoolie man! Prayer's for your wife too. It's hard when your hubby is in hospital and you have to keep up a strong, cool and calm front while inside you are freaking out.
Blessed be Bansil and stay positive.

Bansil, we'll keep a seat warm for you on the bus and the arguments rancorous for your amusement. We'll look forward to new tales from the coast upon your return--get well soon. Jack

Re: WHY I HAVENT BEEN AROUND SURGERY AND ..................
Hey Bansil, so sorry to hear about this. We've been through this when my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple years ago. Tough hearing those words but God's got us through it and she is doing just fine.
Hang in there and keep us posted. Prayers.....

Re: WHY I HAVENT BEEN AROUND SURGERY AND ..................
You look great! That picture made me smile. Bald is definitely the way to go... it's summer and the top of your head needs a little sun, yeah? Plus, no one wants hair when it's so warm weather-wise.
Congratulations on traveling a tough road and making the best of it. Looks like you've come out on top!
Extremely jealous of the wine pictures. I did want you to know that I sorely missed your presence on the board; days have gone by without seeing a picture of a wine glass or wine bottle, and I actually was able to keep my craving at bay for a few short weeks.
Joking aside, you look well and it's nice to see your post.

Re: WHY I HAVENT BEEN AROUND SURGERY AND ..................
So I had blood work done and all of my counts are coming up, magnesium was 1.6 so I had to do 1 hour of it to take (last week it was .1 ) turns out omeprazole will not let the body absorb magnesium supplements
I have been taking Lovenox and am so tired of the Nausea, it's actually worst than the chemo
so this Friday is the CT scan!!
I have done some work in the bus...not enough yet...
THE BEST NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! is that I can taste wine again
