Re: Will solar get cheaper

Haven't you heard? The economic crisis gives him a free pass to not do anything he promised. Sadly, any mistakes he makes will also be given a free pass, since you're given more leeway when you mess up trying to fix someone else's screw-ups. Or at least that will be the official line.

Good thing we're skoolies... we're used to bumpy rides.

Re: Will solar get cheaper

the more government (tax) money that's promised towards something the more the prices skyrocket, if your buyers had to work for and earn the money they will be spending they will require good pricing, when the people in charge of buying are doing so with money that they have no personal investment in they will pay whatever is asked, so why will solar manufacturers bother competing for your dollar when they can charge the government 5x as much, which is of course still your money you just don't get the benefit

Re: Will solar get cheaper

I did read (http://www.backwoodshome.com/articles2/yago115.html) that buried within the 396+ pages of pork added to the 4-page 0.7 trillion bailout, there is an expansion of Federal tax credits on new solar projects. It also includes wind power and water heating, but probably excludes mobile (Skoolie) installations. I dunno about prices - what influence will the credit have on supply and demand?
