Window Glass

My RV door on my bus has plexi for the glass. I can't see anything through it, and that is what I have to look through to check traffic. Can I just buy some window glass and cut it or is this something best left to a glass shop? I'm assuming it has to be the kind of glass that crumbles if it breaks.

Yes, if you're going to use glass, use tempered glass. You could cut it yourself if it has square corners. Radiused corners take some practice. Personally I would use a piece of Lexan, It can't break, and is easy to cut to fit.

Tempered panes 8x16 are about $60 each

You could probably do lexan for 25

Will Lexan yellow? I don't know for sure what the (non-glass) stuff is that's in there now but it has way darkened up. That window is all I have to check cross traffic to my right so it has to be clear.

No, it doesn't yellow. I ran it as race car windows for decades.
