Would somebody please tell me what this metal rod is called!?

It's a crucial part of the liftgate on the back of my RV and it's bent so badly out of shape that it no longer functions properly when closing the liftgate. When working properly the liftgate will close at a 90 degree angle, right now it's closing at a 60 degree angle. I need to have it fixed ASAP, but first i need to know what it is even called.

I've included 2 pics; the original pic and one with the metal rod highlighted in blue. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
