Re: Yesterdays Finds

Smitty,

I want to park my bus around back, but there are a lot of nails/screws on/in the ground back there... Occasionally they cause flat tires. I do not want to mess with flat tires on my bus. Would someone with a metal detector be able to find them all? If so, how would I find someone in my area who is into that sort of thing?

Re: Yesterdays Finds

Might try a construction site type magnet- The kind that is approx 4 ft. long on small wheels, many have a small rake to help kick up/dig up nails and screws. If it is a real problem, could maybe rig a small harrow with a magnet follower behind an ATV or lawn/garden tractor. Faster, more effective and more fun than detecting and digging. (Take a step, on the knees, dig, repeat).

These screws/nails/whatnot are left over from many years ago. Most are buried a bit, or at least pressed into the ground or intertwined in the grass. I don't see a magnet getting most of them. I'll look into buying a metal detector and doing it myself. Might be fun!
