I don't have any personal experience with the ford gas engines in cutaway buses. The ones I see on the road around here have the V10 gas engine or the 6.0L diesel which has been discontinued. The V10 has a good reputation but the 6.0L is one to avoid. The Chevy shuttles have the Duramax diesel which has a good reputation. The diesels will give you better fuel mileage than the gassers but the diesels need more maintenance. The old Ford 7.3L Powerstroke diesel has a great reputation but was discontinued in the 2003 model year. The newer ford diesels don't fit in a van engine bay so 2010 is the last year a diesel was available in the ford cutaways. If I was in the market for another shuttle bus I would go with the V10 in a Ford or the Duramax in a Chevy. Good luck on your search!

Hey there! I am looking to get into the Bus Life and searching for the right choice. I like the shuttle buses but not sure if a E350 5.4 L, V8 has the power to do this. Thoughts?
