| mixer valve - 'thermostatic' mixing valve. Set to just slightly lower temp than the water heater output. This 'buffers' the hot water to avoid spikes or fluctuations, and prevents burning. Must be set close to water heater temp (just below) otherwise the instant water heater will shut off due to low flow threshold. |
