The build - photo dump!
Long overdue - but here are the photos from our build out, start to present. My motto is "Nothing is ever easy, but it is always worth it" after banging my head on every damn thing in this bus, developing arthritis in my left hand, and gaining so much knowledge about electricity, plumbing, carpentry, and diesel engines.
Big thanks to EVERYONE in this forum for helping me and all of the other curious newbies out there, I wouldn't have made it this far without you <3
Really ties the whole room together :)
SUPER happy with the end result!! 30 minute cushions, not kidding!...
cushion prep - the guts
84qt Fridge :)
Transform!
Hidden Fridge
Getting kind of tight in here for photos! Bed platform is up, you can kind of see in the background.
Fancy cuts make me feel like I know what I'm doing! Bulkhead storage installed above the driver seat - I'll probably get some kind of mesh that I can...
Starting to look like home! Feels great to be adding some finial features of the bus in stead of so much framing and prep work.
Last looks at the bedroom and garage before I install the bed platform. 75gal water tank held down with water tank straps earthquake straps. I think...
Getting cleaner!
Plumbing, water heater, and drinking water filter - check! I scored 100ft of 3/4"in. PEX at the ReUse store for $10 - I couldn't say no. It is all...
Oooh, fancy! Drawer slides like a dream, with a foot pedal locking mechanism to keep the fridge in-place.
Refrigerator - check! 86qt Whynter chest style fridge on 250lb drawer slides. (The fridge weighs about 75lbs empty)
Lookin' like a living room! Just a small one ;)
Refrigerator drawer / cabinet going in! It's starting to get a little tight in here.
Second bench in! Both seats open on the seat, and the back for storage.
First side of the dinette is in! Now we have 2 seats in the bus, with no time to sit in them ;)
Plumbing has begun! I will clean it all up when I'm finished, but it is cool to see some components going in - this is actually happening!
75gal...
I had some extra Mapei AquaDefense a contractor left after a shower remodel, so I decided to throw down a coat on the shower floor and lower walls -...
NOW WE'RE TALKING! Starting to look like we could actually live in this some day! Bathroom framed out - will be a wetbath with shower and toilet in...
You know it's been a productive day when every tool in the shop is on the floor. Finishing up some of the wiring to the back of the bus, working...
Sanding, staining, polyurethane coat, drilling holes for lights - and we are good to go. It looks so good, and feels so good to be putting in some...
Ceiling success! It looks so good, and no more yellow cottage cheese!
The ceiling, on the floor! Cost of lumber is finally coming down but I definitely didn't expect the CEILING to cost so much. It will be worth it ;)
