Jolly Rodger, would you be able to post pictures of the seatbelts you put in your schoolie? We're trying to decide how to put seat belts into our schoolie and would like to have our seats facing the middle. So far our only option is to keep our old school bus seats facing forward. But that eats up a great deal of our floor space. Thanks for the help.

All right lady's and gentlemen. Sorry I am just now getting back to asking for help again I only have Sunday's to work/think on the Jolly Roger. Back to the rear end gearing question please? What I have installed for rear gear's are an eaton rear ratio 6.50,model 16121,head 121523,hooked to an at545 4-speed auto linked to an 8.2 Detroit. I don't mind the back road's for travel but I would still like to run more than 49? Would a governor change help but burn up the rear or do I need to look into the tranny more? Time and money wise I only want to do this once! Any advice/opinion that y'all have will help me make up my mind. Thank ya.

I am asking for your opinion's (sorry ex-marine) all of my and my wife's family is in texas and we want to use our bus to live in while I build our house on a blank piece of property in texas. I don't want to do 49 mph from North Carolina to TEXAS? I do have time to address this but but we are getting closer than we have been ? I have been to the diesel forum and no response yet? Please give me your opinion's and thought's and you can call me 910-358-0002 I might not be able to answer sometimes cause I work around military flightlines but I will call back!

    I have an 86 skoolie
The biggest question I have is for the mechanic's? I have an 8.2 Detroit that run's great (200,000 and has only moved 100 miles since bought from the state but I can only do 49? The older man at the barn told me even if I adjust the governor's my rear end would burn up? I agreee after looking at the gearing. I have an Allisontransmission and a eaton rear end I do have those number's just not in front of me. I can't get any advice from the high dollar mechanic's to change the rear gear's for me and none will come do it in my drive way? They only want the hog head handed to them in a shop. I have a gravel drive so if I get it up to pull the rear end I could change the gear's in place.
I wanted the security of a garage.I guess I am just looking for advice on what gear ratio to change to? I would love to do at least 65 and I don't see why an 8.2 can't do it but I do question if I need to add a cooler on the AT-5 ? Thank's for any advice
