Finally got a bus. 2003 Chevy Express 3500 6 window Girardin. Got all the seats out but had to grind out every damn bolt. Removed heated mirrors from the front panels and just cut the wires to them. Then I got to thinking maybe that was not a good idea. Any suggestions?
Hey there. It was missing the keys, and hadn't been started in over a year. The batteries were a jumbled mess and no good. I put in a new battery and replaced the ignition switch (couldn't get just the key). I also had to bypass the exit interlock. The coolant lines got cleaned up and closed off too after removing the heater. I was able to track down and replace the blown fuses that were preventing the headlights from working and some other smaller stuff.
I need 3k to buy him out, I have about 800 saved up now. The floor was pretty badly rusted, with several big holes but I've fixed all of that. The frame is fine. the exhaust is badly rusted out and the last 7 feet of pipe just fell off, but it runs fine it's just shorter than it should be lol. I still need to fix the rust under the stairs but it's not urgent. I may not get to that till spring.
Would like to buy a bus for conversion to my retirement home. Live in the middle of NY state so rust is a factor. Getting a bus here is an issue since I don't have a CDL, but I am looking and open to suggestions.
